1982 Mercedes-Benz 380SL

When Mercedes Benz began designing the R107 SL, they knew that the United States was going to be a major market for the car. Over its 18 year production run, more than 68% of the entire run of R107s were sold into the United States, and it has become one of the most beloved classics of the 1970s and 1980s.

This 380SL is a lifelong Seattle area car, and presents in excellent condition throughout. Finished in the appealing color of Silver Blue Metallic over Dark Blue leather interior, this SL shows less than 40,000 miles on the odometer- which is believed to be original. Although this car is fitted with the US-Spec impact bumpers, one of the prior owners swapped the sealed-beam headlights for Euro-spec single large glass lenses which streamlines the look up front and is a very desirable upgrade in the R107 world.

These SLs were all built as convertibles, but feature a weatherproof removable hardtop that turns your convertible into a striking coupe, offering added practicality that most drop-top cars from this era can’t match. This example is reported to have recently had a new soft top installed, and the removable hardtop is in excellent condition. Additionally, a known issue on these cars is the pad under the hood degrading over time- this has recently been replaced and when you open the engine bay, it is remarkably clean under the hood.
