1978 Porsche 911SC

In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the ‘911SC’. Porsche reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC. There was no Carrera version of the 911SC, the “SC” stands for “Super Carrera”. It featured a 3.0-litre aluminum engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 transmission. Originally power output was 180 HP, and by 1981 it was increased to 201 hp. A total of 4,214 911SC’s were sold in its introductory year, with this rare example being one of only a handful in the stunning black/red combination. With only 51,000 miles on the odometer, this very original and well maintained example will soon be available through Dobson Stuttgart. Freshly detailed, with refinished Fuchs rims and new tires, this car has the desirable Targa top and the upgraded period-correct sound system.
